Vandana or “prayer”

Prayer occupies a central place within Hinduism, as well as in the system of Vimukti Yoga™. The holy scriptures consist of a huge collection of prayers, both to Brahman and to God’s personal aspects: Shiva, Vishnu or his different avataras such as Rama and Krishna, and the Devi, the Divine Mother of the universe.

Prabhuji suggests an ordained and constant sequence of prayers to the Lord. Students of Vimukti Yoga™ pray three times daily: the morning session, called prabhāta-vandanā; afternoon session, or vikāla-vandanā; and evening session, called rātri-vandanā.
